Class 16 – Minor Puppy Bitch (5/0)

A very strong class of Minor Puppies who will undoubtedly change places over their show career.

1^st.       Chappell’s Selmalda Secret Symphony, 8 Month Fawn.  Still to mature. Nicley sized and excellent in profile. Good dark eye. Excellent topline and short in body. Straight front and rear with good turn of stifle. Well presented and moved soundly.                   

2^nd.      Pocock’s Tamzdane Oooey Gooey Cake, 7 Month Harlequin.  Well marked harlequin. Well shaped head, correct drop of lip, good reach of neck, well filled front, good shoulder lay, correct turn of stifle, moved soundly round the ring.

Class 17 – Puppy Bitch (2/0)

1^st.       Pocock’s Tamzdane Appley Ever After 11 Month Harlequin.  Moved with good speed and purpose as if she owned the ring. Lightly marked, in superb condition and well proportioned. Excellent feminine head, with lovely neck, straight front and good depth. Level topline and nice turn of stifle. Best Puppy Bitch.

2^nd.      Price’s Devorins Zola Via Leamap 11 Month Black.  A little nervous on the day, but I have found this hall difficult for young ones and some Danes do get unsettled with the shade and reflection of the of blue tones. All black with nice head and expression, long neck and good lay of shoulder. Excellent and clean dentition, good strong topline, well angulated and good turn of stifle.

Class 18 – Junior Bitch (2/1)

1^st.       Dyson’s Primus Diamonds Are Forever Samdice, 14 Month Brindle.  Nice and evenly marked brindle girl. Super head, dark eye with kind expression. Long crest of neck into correct lay of shoulder. Deep brisket with ribs well sprung. Level topline on the move. Shown to her best. Litter sister to my Yearling winner.

Class 19 – Yearling Bitch (5/1)

           Another lovely class.

1^st.       Dyson’s Primus Bond Girl with Samdice, 14 Month Brindle.  I’ve admired this girl from a distance throughout the current show season, but you never know until you judge, she did not disappoint and a privilege to judge her. She is so beautifully balanced and elegant, nothing too much or overstated, just right and the one I would willingly take home. Super head, dark eyes, alert expression. Top honours await her future. She ran my Best Bitch very close and only lost out today in maturity. If I was going to be very, very picky and only because I like her so much, I’d like her to move a tad quicker, she’s definitely got it in her. Reserve Best Bitch.

2^nd.      Cranfield’s Zefather’s Kind of Magic JW, 18 Month Fawn.  Feminine and graceful describes this quality girl. Well balanced both in front and rear. Lovely black mask and nice eye. Attractive long arched neck into good strong shoulders. Good depth of chest and spring of rib.

Class 20 – Graduate Bitch (4/1)

1^st.       White’s X-Foot’s Dagas Hildur NAF, 2yr Brindle.  Another lovely marked brindle. Good length of foreface and super dark muzzle with alert expression. Neck is long and well arched. Perfect straight front and cat-like feet.

2^nd.      Brookes’s Danemoor Penny Lane, 2½yr Blue.  Correct tight eye shape with strong jaw, excellent dentition and nice expression. Nice, crested neck into decent shoulders. Nice fill of front and tuck up giving overall pleasing outline. Good width of thigh and bend of stifle uses rear with drive.

Class 21 – Post Graduate Bitch (2/1)

1^st.       Wright’s Novavida Sweet Iris at Irieusdane, 2½yr Blue.  Deep slate blue bitch, correct bite, enough reach of neck set into well set shoulders, good depth of chest, good angulation front and rear and straight / flat topline. Moved around the ring with drive.

2^nd.      Jones’s Jacqukir Time For Change, 2½yr Fawn.  Really liked this fawn girl as soon as she came into the ring. Lovely black mask with good dark eye which are nicely sized and very expressive. Nicely shaped with good depth of chest and strong shoulders. Such a shame she did not want to show today and difficult to assess properly. However, while writing critique I was able to get close, how annoying, but that’s a Dane for you!

 Class 22 – Limit Bitch (1/0)

1^st.       Harrison’s Rioco My One and Only to Jasnettdanes JW, 2yr Fawn.  Very pretty girl with elegance throughout. Good head and long neck. Kept her excellent topline on the move. Would have liked a little more upfront and shorter nails.

Class 23 – Open Bitch (2/0)

1^st.       Chappell’s CH Selmalda Oh Lori (AI), 3yr Fawn  Shape and elegance, all wrapped up in a beautifully deep rich fawn girl with a super dark mask with a soft expression. Oozes strength all round. Lovely reach of neck set into well laid shoulders deep brisket and width to chest. Straight front and rear with good turn of stifle. Moved so well with such a positive attitude. Beautiful presented and handled to perfection. She gave both her handlers on the day everything, so willing to please. Best Bitch & Best in Show.

2^nd.      Fletcher’s CH Justinian Bea My Sweetheart, 2yr Fawn.  Lovely balanced girl of good size, nice head profile. Correct in front and rear. Good chest and forechest. Super feet and moved well.

Class 24 – Special Veteran Bitch (6 YRS+) (2/0)

1^st.       White’s Jutlanders Are You Ready JW (IMP DK), 6yr Fawn 2 Lovely girls in Veteran. I have had the pleasure of judging her before and she would have undoubtably achieved top honours if it were not for Covid. Characteristic head planes, deep set dark eyes and correct drop of lip. Ears set high on skull. Elegant neck which sits on a very strong straight front with a good depth of chest. Well boned and lovely turn of stifle. Best Veteran in Show

2^nd.      Searle’s CH Droolakiss Miss Busy Body at Murrayvhayle, 7yr Brindle. Girl is of lovely type, good head with perfectly parallel planes. Excellent front, shoulders and body. Looks lovely in profile. Superb hindquarters. Still in fine coat. Both handler and dog moved at a comfortably pace around the ring.

Class 25 – Special Open Brindle Bitch (3/1)

1^st.       Merwick’s Taradanes Star Visions for Saalan, 18 Month Brindle. Very striking in stance. Nice head and expression, long neck and good lay of shoulder. Good depth of chest and spring of rib. Excellent and clean dentition, good strong topline, well angulated and good turn of stifle.

2^nd.      White’s X-Foot’s Dagas Hildur NAF, 2yr Brindle. See Graduate Bitch.

Class 26 – Special Open Fawn Bitch (1/1)

1^st.       Page & Concannon’s Novavida Purple Calla Lily JW, 2½yr Black. Strong well filled all black girl. Good depth of chest and spring of rib. Lovely straight bone and good feet. Moved well in both directions.

2^nd.      Evans’s Belerosedane Beany Babybel, 18 Month Black. Still to mature, so was struggling with maturity of 1. Not overly happy with the hall today. Nicely shaped dark eye. Strong flowing neck. Straight front and rear. Was happier on the move.

Class 28 – Special Open Blue Bitch (3/0)

1^st.       Hayter’s Taysca Stele Mici with Stevarah, 16 Month Blue. Well presented and handled. Strong head and well set ears with good length of neck. Straight to front, good bone and excellent feet.

2^nd.      Brookes’s Danemoor Penny Lane, 2½yr Blue.  See Graduate Bitch.

Class 29 – Special Open Harlequin Bitch (3/0)

1^st.       Tempest’s Adoreadane Licence To Kill (AI), 2yr Harlequin.  Well marked Harlequin from this kennel. Feminine head, good bone and correct angulation, stands all square. Lovely length of neck. Good front and topline. Strode out well with good ground cover. Well handled. Has matured into an attractive girl. In my final four.

Class 30 – Special Open Mantle Bitch (2/1)

1^st.       Hayter’s Damarkann Raydiance with Stevarah, 3yr Mantle. While she may have stood alone in this class, there is a lot to like. An attractive well marked mantle girl that is well balanced and nicely put together. Strong muscled but nevertheless feminine with a well developed forechest and depth of chest. Good topline while moving with great strides. In my final four.
